Answer a few simple questions, and I'll show you a ballpark estimate so you can protect your home with a standby generator.
Good to meet you
What's pulling you toward backup power?
Select everything that applies. This helps us understand how to best serve you.
Your home
How many heating and cooling systems do you have?
Count the outdoor units (heat pumps or condensers), not window units or mini-splits. This is usually the biggest load in your home.
Good to know. With 3 or more systems, we'll size to our largest air-cooled option. If you have 4+, your Power Consultant may recommend liquid-cooled, which we price on-site.
Your home
What kind of home?
Good to know. Condos and some townhouses need HOA approval for a standby generator. We've done a lot of these and can walk you through your community's process. Approval typically adds 4 to 12 weeks on top of normal permitting.
Sizing your system
Any of these in the home?
These are the big draws that affect generator sizing. Check what applies, skip what doesn't.
Your electrical service
Do you happen to know your panel size?
Most homes are 200 amps. If you're not sure, skip this one. We'll confirm with you during the on-site visit.
How we'll fuel it
What fuel do you have?
Natural gas is the most common fuel source in Tennessee and Georgia. If you have a gas furnace, water heater, or range, you likely have natural gas. Propane works great in rural areas where gas lines don't reach.
No problem. A quick clue: if you have a gas furnace, gas water heater, or gas range, your home probably has natural gas. If none of those, you're likely all-electric and we'd install propane. We'll show a wider estimate to cover both options, and we'll confirm with you during the visit.
This helps us recommend the right tank size. Longer runtime = bigger tank.
